The power of the Resurrection is the main theme of this Sunday’s readings. Jesus Christ rises, despite His passion, despite his death on a cross, despite His being buried in a tomb, despite the stone, in spite of the presence of the guards. The Father raises His Son from the dead, in the Holy Spirit, demonstrating that Christ now has the keys of death and hell.
We wish to express our sincerest “Thank You” for all of the cards, goodies and wishes extended to Fr. Ratajczak OMI, Fr. Hattie OMI and Brother Loska OMI for Easter. It is very much appreciated!
This Fifth Sunday of Lent brings us readings about the triumph of life over death.
Fourth Sunday of Lent – Laetare Sunday
In the first reading, from the Book of Samuel, the Lord picks for himself a King for Israel. The Lord sees the heart, and not the outward appearance. The Lord looks also at our hearts, and asks that our hearts be reconciled and cleansed.
Brothers and sisters, on this Third Sunday of Lent, I would like to reflect upon the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman, from the Gospel that we have just heard. This reflection will lead us to the theme of the Living Water.
The Second Sunday of Lent asks us to contemplate Jesus’ Transfiguration, and the cloud that sometimes overshadows us in our life of faith.
