Rejoice in the Lord, again I say rejoice! This third Sunday of Advent is traditionally called Gaudete Sunday – a rejoicing reflected in rose vestments and the choice of Scriptures.

In this season of preparation, of waiting in joyful hope, our readings invite us to heed the voice of John the Baptist: Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths.

Today is the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, and it is a feast we celebrate at the end of each liturgical year.
