Vatican End times will bring greater persecution to Christians

“You must obey the orders which come from worldly powers. You can do many things, beautiful things, but not adore God. Worship is prohibited. This is at the center of the end of time.”

Sharing Memory with God

relics stpeterThe Year of Faith has come to a close this past Sunday, November 24th -- the Feast of Christ the King. Faith tends to grow in adversity and for many this has been a very difficult year filled with stripping moments -- where all that was left was the certainty of Jesus in our lives. In his closing remarks, Pope Francis commented that believing “is walking with Jesus. It’s a journey that lasts a lifetime... Obviously, in this journey there will be moments when we feel tired and confused. However, faith gives us the certainty of the constant presence of Jesus in every situation, including the most painful and difficult to understand.”

Grandparents play a heroic role in passing on the faith

GrandfatherIn his daily morning Mass at the Vatican, the Pope talked about taking care of the elderly. Echoing one of his trademark statements, he explained that a society that nurtures the elderly, is a society that protects its memory and future.   

POPE FRANCIS 

“Let's pray for our grandfathers and grandmothers, who so very often have played a heroic role in transmitting the faith, even in times of persecution. When mom and dad weren't home, or when they had a strange belief system that reflected the politics of that time, grandparents were the ones who passed on the faith.” 
 
The Pope also highlighted that out of the ten commandments, 'Honoring thy Father and Mother' is the only commandment that guarantees prosperity.

Restoring Faith in the Year of Faith

holy-water-blessing-pope-francis-1200Pope Francis. Those two words have the world talking, and for good reason. There is a shaking going on. An uneasy movement that has many filled with fear. Did the Pope really say this? Did he really mean that? Does God really want us to leave Egypt and follow this man into the desert of transformation? Yes. Yes, he does.

This is after all a holy year, a Year of Faith. There was bound to be a tilting of our axis and a rubbing against our comfort zones. We should expect sparks if we want to become saints.
